Rawalpindi: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Narowal Sport city case arrested senior PML-N leader and close aide of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal on Monday (today).
According to Samaa digital, Mr. Iqbal was summoned to NAB’s Rawalpindi office in the morning.
Former interior minister, Mr. Iqbal, is accused of causing losses worth billions to the national exchequer by starting the Sports city project in his home constituency.
According to Samaa digital, “The Pakistan Sports Board illegally used its authority for the construction of the sports city,” the NAB official said.
As per sources, the former interior minister is accused of initiating Rs. 3 billions project illegally, the Samaa digital reported.
According to sources, Iqbal is accused of starting the Rs3 billion project illegally.
