ISLAMABAD: In his exclusive interview to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that Asia Bibi will leave Pakistan within weeks.
On which, BBC News World Affairs editor, John Simpson, asked the prime minister regarding the current status of Asia Bibi whose acquittal was upheld by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in blasphemy case on January 29, 2019. Earlier, she had spent eight years on death row.
“She would leave the country soon,” the premier replied.
Are we talking about days or weeks? Mr Simpson asked.
To which, Mr. Khan replied ‘within weeks.’
“There are some complications which couldn’t be discussed in media,” said PM.
But she (Asia Bibi) is completely safe, PM Khan assured Mr. Simpson during the interview.
