Rawalpindi: Pakistan People’s Party President Asif Ali Zardari was taken to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) due to his complaint of low blood pressure, sugar level and pain in the chest on Thursday.
“Mr. Zardari went through angiography and other tests at the RIC and was examined under the supervision of leading heart specialist Azhar Kayani,” said one of Surkhiyan sources at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).
Although, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claims that Zardari was taken to hospital for routine checkup but the PPP leadership has registered strong concern over the shifting of their party chief to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).
“We were not informed about the deterioration in the health condition of our leader (Asif Ali Zardari) and we are really worried and concerned about it,” said one of the senior PPP leader from central Punjab while talking to Surkhiyan.
Former president was arrested on Monday from his residence by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected an application seeking extension in the pre-arrest bails by Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in the fake accounts case.
