The PTI-led federal government is high on taxes these days (No, I’m not at all talking about the high you just presumed). The imposition of ‘General Sales Tax (GST)’ on almost everything a common man uses, has left public and even some of PTI supporters traumatized, while some still believe that Tabdeeli is coming but Tabdeeli ka sabun slow hai.
After the failure of Former Finance Minister Asad Umar, we did not have any choice other than saving the public by imposing tax on everything they do. After all, the public voted for “change” so they will also have to pay for the failure of each and every minister, said Firdous Ashiq Awan while talking to the media.
Meanwhile, the SBP Governor Dr. Reza Baqir assured people of economic stability by telling them about greater inflation, a shattered rupee, draconian laws on the expression of freedom, and the incompetence at the diplomatic level. These will altogether make this country stable and the future is obviously brighter than one can even imagine.
However, the same statement was also given by Former Finance Minister Asad Umar, who later couldn’t find stability even for his own job.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Shabbar Zaidi, who is busy in conducting press conferences these days told media during a press conference that the government is even thinking about naming Pakistan as Taxistan, keeping in view the current situation.
“We will collect tax to make Pakistan a stable and better country to live in. We will impose tax on everything people do. We will impose tax on tax evaders and even on those who are not tax evaders”, he said.
“After imposing tax on flour, we are considering to impose tax on breathing as well”, he replied with a grin on his face, when a reporter questioned about so many taxes.
When asked about what the government is doing to strengthen the economy, he replied “Putting corrupts in jails will strengthen economy, the public will meanwhile pay for the money the corrupts looted in form of tax and this will eventually save the economy.”
While all his Ministers indicated towards stability of the country, The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on the other hand said while giving speech at a ceremony.
“The government does not have enough money to build 5 million houses but the country is still progressing towards a better future. No one can stop us from restoring our lost glory now. We are not going to spare any corrupt politician and even journalists. We will put all of them in jails and you will see that the economy will flourish according to the hours they spend in jail. Meanwhile only the public can help us in recovering looted wealth of the public by paying more and more taxes.”
“This nation is a great nation and it can bear even above its bearing capacity. After all, it has been bearing this from years, there’s nothing wrong in bearing all of this for another 5 years. I promise Naya Pakistan is at your doorstep, you just have to pay more and more and more taxes to open the door”, he added.
However, the public (the nation) is still confused and is still busy in figuring out that why exactly they voted for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
