Explaining the reason for not attending the Kuala Lumpur summit, sources close to the prime minister and Prime Minister’s House say the prime minister could not go to the summit because of dense fog that disrupted flies across the country.
“Prime Minister Imran really wanted to go to the summit and for this, he had got his new dress laundered and boot polished,” said sources.
“This shows his seriousness of his commitment but then he got a lunch invitation from his old friend Muhammad Bin Salman and he can’t refuse his invitation.”
The source said when the prime minister came back from lunch, he checked weather forecast and ordered the Met office to show foggy weather on weather chart.
In a late night development, the National Accountability Bureau chairman has decided to open an inquiry into the Kuala Lumpur summit.
“How can the summit announce a single currency and barter system to avoid sanctions?” said a NAB press release.
A press release issued from Jeddah said they expected a U turn from Islamabad on the KL summit issue but alas it could not happen.
