Lahore: Pakistan welcomed its year 2020 with a clean sweep win against Bangladesh cricket team in the “T20I Three Day Series” at Gaddafi Stadium – Lahore. The nation rejoiced as their favourite sport team regained its top position in the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Team rankings; marking the team’s first win since October 2018.

Known for her unpredictability at the field, Pakistan cricket team proved her mantle as an “unassailable team” defeating Bangladesh by five wickets at their 1st T20I, and a whopping 9 wicket lead in the 2nd T20I, leaving the country to predict their incontestable winning streak scores for the 3rd T20I.  Mother Nature however had other plans – surprising the city with persistent downpour therefore cancelling the third match altogether.

Pride of the nation “Babar Azam” secured the No.1 batsman position in the MRF Tyres ICC T20I rankings. The skipper aided Pakistan chase down the 2nd T20I 137-run target with nine wickets and 3.2 overs in hand. Champion runner up “Mohammad Hafeez” was brilliant as well, registering a 49-ball 67* after walking in to bat in the second over. The dynamic duo steered Bangladesh’s bowling attack skilfully, giving the country a glorious memorable series victory.

This series win has helped Pakistan retain their “Number 1” ranking in T20I at 270 points, a one point lead against Australia.

The nation now waits for the one-off test match which will be played in Rawalpindi from Friday – February 7th 2020. Interestingly this marks the first-five day game between the two teams and also the first in Pakistan between the two sides since September 2003.

With the recent tours by international sports teams and Pakistan’s momentous win in the T20I series against Bangladesh in January 2020, we can proudly testify that “Tabdeeli Agayi Hai” and as a nation “Ghabrana nahe hai”
