After the phenomenal success of Bharosa Pyaar Tera, 7th Sky Entertainment, spearheaded by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, brought Dil-e-Gumshudato our screens for the 9 pm slot. With a melodious OST, a star cast, and a strong storyline, Dil-e-Gumshuda has all the ingredients that you need for a good drama. Featuring Hina Altaf, Agha Ali, Mirza Zain Baig, and Amar Khan in the lead roles, the story is moving at a decent pace and a lot has happened since the start of the drama.
The plot of Dil-e-Gumshuda mainly centers around two cousins, Alizey and Zara, played by Amar Khan and Hina Altaf respectively. Alizey is a very manipulative, self-centered, jealous, and insecure girl who likes to have everything her way. She is spoilt and thinks very highly of herself. Being the only daughter of her parents, she does not like sharing their love and attention with anyone. However, after Zara’s parents pass away, Alizey’s father brings her to their house, and this is how the story starts. Zara is a sweet girl who knows how to win everybody’s heart with her pure intentions. Alizey has been living alone with her parents for years, she does not like Zara’s presence in the house. Her mother also shares her opinions and disliking for Zara, but acts sweet in front of her husband. Though, the mother-daughter duo creates a lot of problems for Zara and leave no chance of demeaning her.
As the story progresses, Zara gets engaged to Nadeem, played by Mirza Zain Baig. Nadeem loves Zara because of her simplicity but his family is greedy. As Zara and Nadeem get engaged, Alizey gets jealous of the bond they share and the love Nadeem showers on Zara. Alizey is also engaged to Daniyal, a wealthy and handsome businessman, played by Agha Ali. The two, despite being best friends, don’t share an understanding and are constantly fighting. Alizey manipulates Nadeem and shows him the wealth she has and gives him a false impression that if he leaves Zara and marries her, he can own everything she inherits from her father. Nadeem breaks his engagement with Zara, and Alizey breaks her relationship with Daniyal.
As events unfold, we see Zara and Daniyal getting married on the date that Alizey was supposed to get married to. However, both Zara and Daniyal find it hard to accept this relationship. The two are trying their best to come to terms with the relationship they are now in, but Alizey finds ways to get Daniyal’s attention. On the other hand, Alizey has now started giving a cold shoulder to Nadeem, who has sold off his house to get a nice, well-maintained place on rent to raise his standard to match Alizey’s.
Overall, it is an intriguing drama and something to look forward to five days a week. There are twists and turns and you want to know how the drama unfolds and how things go down between the lead characters.
