A private, intimate ‘leaked’ video of actor Fatima Sohail circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms caused a stir and social media uproar on Thursday Night.
The ‘leaked’ video provided an opportunity to twitterati and other social media platform users to come up with conspiracy theories in connection to the domestic violence case Ms. Sohail had filed against her former husband and actor cum singer Mohsin Abbas Haider.
While some felt sorry for Sohail, others lauded Haider for having made the ‘right’ decision.
Amina Hassan, one of the social media users told Surkhiyan that she felt sorry for Fatima Sohail who first had to face the domestic violence and now the mental torture as this video is going viral across the social media platforms. “It must be really painful for her and I will sorry for her,” she added.
However, another twitterati Shahram Haq, told Surkhiyan I think Mohsin Abbas Haider had made the right choice of parting ways with Fatima. “Fatima was deliberately doing character assassination of her ex-husband when his career was on the rise and it seems that there is some hidden agenda of ruining Mohsin Abbas Haider’s career, Haq added.
Fatima Sohail took to Instagram on Friday, to rubbish all the rumours and gossips around that ‘leaked’ video.
“The video is inappropriate and fake,” said Ms. Sohail.
She added that a complaint to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the matter had already been launched.
In her Instagram post she wrote “An inappropriate video is trending falsely with my name recently. I have nothing to do with this video and surprisingly the lady in the video does not even resemble me,” she wrote.
“I filed a complaint with the FIA and according to their forensic report, the video shows someone else,” Ms. Sohail claimed.
“I have taken a legal action and filed a complaint with the FIA, and as per their forensic report this is some other lady. We are now investigating and will soon share who circulated this video and tried to defame me.”
Ms. Sohail also shared the copy of the complaint “I am disgusted to know how low someone can stoop. These people should be taught a lesson so they think a hundred times before accusing someone!” she wrote in her instagram staus.
Sohail also added another post appreciating the efforts of FIA, in order to help resolve the issue.
“Thank God we have units like FIA cyber crime. In fact, what would I have done without such a reputable and strong cyber crime support to validate my claims?” She wrote at her instagram status.
