The PTI led federal government is planning to dissolve Ministry of Energy and considering splitting it into two separate ministries for power and petroleum, Surkhiyan has learnt.
Senior official working at Prime Minister Secretariat told Surkhiyan, “This plan was under consideration since the incumbent government came to power last year. The main idea behind this move was to improve the efficiency of both of these division which are over burdened.”
He shared that the summary of this decision would be presented before the federal cabinet on April 30 for approval after which the amendment would be made in the rules of Business.
The credit of establishing Ministry of Energy goes to the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz that established it in 2017.
