Head Nurse of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Shamim Akhtar passed away yesterday during service after she fell ill for a little while.
According to the govt. policy her salary and benefits to continue till her age of retirement. Principal PGMI Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar has directed the Medical Superintendent (MS) LGH, Nursing Administration and Director Finance of the hospital to do everything possible with the family of the deceased Shamim Akhtar.
The country’s leading doctor maintains that cooperation should be ensured in the official matters of the deceased which should be completed on priority basis and there should be no delay in this regard.
Dr. Al-Fareed Zafar said that the families of those who died in the line of duty would not be left helpless by the government and all possible help would be extended to the bereaved family especially of the dutiful officer like Shamim Akhtar who was an asset of our hospital.
Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar prayed that may Allah Almighty grant mercy to late Shamim Akhtar and help her family to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude.
Shamim Akhtar has spent a long period of her service in Neuro-Surgery and his services have also been appreciated by the Executive Director, Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences, Prof. Khalid Mahmood, as well.
Her colleague nurses Ramzan Bibi, Ruqqiyah Bano, Khalida Tabassum, Anwar Sultana, Shahnaz Dar and other staff nurses prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and recalled her as a good companion who was much beautiful and true to her services. They declared that Quran Khawani would also be conducted today on 23rd October.
