Losing is not an option for the Indian cricket side when they will face the arch rivals Pakistan in the upcoming match between India and Pakistan, during the biggest tournament of cricket the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2019 in England and Wales this was stated by former aggressive Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag.
The arch rivals would test their nerves in the round-robin match of the World Cup which would take place on June 16. “India Pakistan match is nothing less than a war. We should win the war, not lose it,” said Sehwag while speaking to reporters in Goa.
There was a lot of pressure from different quarters in India, including fans and former test cricketers, for the Indian team to boycott the clash against Pakistan in the aftermath of Pulwama attack, which took place February.
“Whether we should have a war with Pakistan or not [and whether we should play against Pakistan or not] these are the two questions which are always discussed. But there is another point which is also discussed that is we should do whatever is good for the welfare of the country,” said former blistering batsman
With each team scheduled to play nine round-robin matches each before four teams qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament. The mega cricket event would commence on May 30, 2019. The mother of all games, the final will be played at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 14, 2019.
