It is an objective truth that Pakistanis and cricket go hand in hand. Cricket is a part of our culture and our cricket team players are rightfully viewed as the heroes of our nation. Obviously, one cannot ignore the minor heart attacks they give us but we still love them. There have been cricket songs written in Pakistan as well dedicated to the cricket team. So what if another song releases celebrating the same? It’s not any different right or is it?
Renowned guitarist Khurram Waqar has come out with a masterpiece recently. It discusses all emotions: happy, sad, angry or excited. The track is an instrumental but it can still manage to speak to you. You can feel all the emotions whilst listening to it. That is the beauty of this track.
While instrumentals are nothing new in Pakistan, it is still a rare concept in the country. However if one would hear Stick Together, they would eventually forget that whether lyrics are needed for tracks or not. That is just the magic of Stick Together. It feels like you are transported to another dimension. It’s a passionate and honest tribute to cricket and has the ability to hypnotize one in its magic.
The video shows Khurram Waqar unleashing his guitar at different places in Islamabad, passionate cricket fans in Pakistan and footage from cricket matches including the 2019 Cricket World Cup. It looks like a simple video but that is just the beauty of it. When viewing the video, one can easily feel the connection between the track and video and see about how they are a match made in heaven. The video just like track is splendidly done.
Khurram Waqar is responsible for the guitars, bass and drums of this track. This is a daunting task but Waqar makes it look like child’s play. Everything regarding the audio of Stick Together fits in so perfectly that nothing seems less or more: just the right amount needed for the track. On can hear it over and over again and won’t be bored. Some might even go as far to put it as their ringtones and alarm tones but one cannot blame them when it’s a song as amazing as Stick Together.
The audio has been mixed, mastered and produced by Khurram Waqar himself. The music has been recorded at RootGate Studios in Islamabad and has been mastered by Ted Jansen at Sterling Studios in New York.
