BALTIMORE: Maryland Governor Larry Hogan recently ordered the closure of all restaurants, gyms and bars in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
The order will go into effect from Monday at 5:00pm. All public schools and libraries have already been closed across the state.
“I will make whatever decisions and take whatever actions necessary to save the lives of Marylanders,” Hogan said. The governor said that the orders will be fully enforced. “We’re not fooling around anymore.”
The governor said he had activated the National Guard and state police to help enforce the executive order.
The executive order also includes a ban on gathering of 50 or more people. The ban on restaurant, however, will not include takeout or drive-throughs.
“It’s impossible to know how long this threat will continue,” he said.
Meanwhile the number of corona virus patients reached 100 in DC, Virginia and Maryland.
