Masooma is the 25th woman who is doing a Masters in Cancer Biology at Heidelberg University, Germany.
Masooma Rajput is from Balochistan and due to her hard work and dedication, she has become the first woman from her province to ever pursue a Master’s in Cancer Biology from Heidelberg University Germany.
Previously, Masooma completed her bachelors on an awarded scholarship in Germany and now she has been awarded an internship in cancer research at Harvard University.
“When a person decides and wants to do something big, nothing is impossible and no one can stopped them from doing so,” Masooma says.
She said her journey was not easier one because such decisions are difficult for any girl.
“When I decided go for cancer biology, I was criticized and my family started saying that you’re a girl, and how will you do all this on your own? How will you stay in a country outside Pakistan? But with the encouragement of some family members and close relatives I got energy,” she said.
She said that she had never traveled alone before.
Masooma also said that it not a job but institutional work. If the government has taken such a step, I would like to happily return and research in Pakistan.
In order to do any work, you should be determined as to what to do, only then no obstacle can come in your path, and the doors of success will automatically open for you, she said.
