Huawei P30 Pro is actually Huawei Mate 20 Pro and some more. That’s not out of the ordinary usually the mate series upgrades the System & Chipset with a bunch of gizmos and features but the P-series is really about the highlights of the mate series and adding a really phenomenal camera. P30 Pro inherits the same Kirin 980 Processor, all the same storage, ram, in-screen fingerprint sensor, fast charging, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging and so on from mate 20 pro in a modern looking fresh body that really highlights the camera or I should say cameras. I really mean it when I say “The Real Pro” since this device is all about camera and there’s so much to unveil here.

You are still getting the 40 MP camera that was in Mate & P20 Pro but the camera array is different. The amount of detail in the images is crazy to the level of real professional cameras and zoom you can’t even imagine. This phone should get the nick of “Stalker Phone”. Periscope 5X optical zoom without the loss of any quality is super amazing. 5X zoom doesn’t seem like 5X zoom and its as good as 1X zoom of other flagships. And it doesn’t stop here, and the zoom can go upto 10X AI powered zoom which is equally amazing. Wait wait wait one second, that’s not it; the zoom can go upto 50X and the only phone which is capable of this is P30 Pro.

This telescope is the best device to carry that’s diminishing the already thin line between phone and professional cameras. The camera also performs great in the low light and I don’t have any doubt saying that this phone can see in the dark. Even if you try and compare this with Google Pixel Night Sight, P30 Pro beats that hands down. Images are crisp ,noise is lower and I don’t know from where it brings light in the dark and gives those stunning images that will make you believe its taken in the day and not in the dark room. This can also be seen in the videos with absolutely no noise and all the videographers out there, this is the phone to get.

The one thing that surprised me the most was amazing video stabilization, videos are extremely smooth and its’s a perfect combination of OIS and EIS (Both hardware and software) to achieve this. Lighting, exposure both on the subject and the background is just perfect giving a highly stable perfect video. Beside that 5X optical Zoom Lens & the standard 40 MP Lens P30 Pro includes my favorite wide angle lens. Wide angle lens on P30 Pro is not as wide as on S10+ but still its decently wide and its always nice to have that ability to have those kind of shots but if you need crazy wide lens then Galaxy S10 should be your pick.

This phone also packs a time a flight sensor that helps with the portrait mode. The portrait mode on this device isn’t as good as Pixels or Galaxy but better than a lot of other flagships. Portrait mode on videos is now a thing with P30 pro which is not available on any other device on the market. Are we forgetting something? Hmmm yeah the selfie shooter. The Real Pro has crazy high resolution selfie camera that shows ton of details, color accuracy is spot on with great dynamic range. I would’ve loved to see Huawei making the move to hole punch on amoled displays but we have got a waterdrop notch display which is more 2018ish but not much to complain about.

As far as power and processing goes this phone is really amazing. Its pretty much exactly the same as Huawei Mate 20 Pro since the chipset is same with a bigger battery. The screen on time can go upto 10+ hours which is beyond amazing. It’s a true two day battery life phone, and trust me I’m saying this first time ever. Lets take about the 40W super charge feature which enables about 60-70% battery in about 20-30 mins. A two day phone that just takes 45 mins to charge back is a dream come true.

So if you are like most of the consumers on planet earth who mostly care about camera and the battery life, then honestly P30 Pro feels like the phone to have in 2019. It has got an amazing camera system which can see in the dark and charging mechanism that can fuel it up in minutes with two days battery is absolutely out of the world. It’s definitely my favorite camera phone of 2019 so far until something else defeats it.
