Washington D.C: The United States President Donald Trump has said Pakistan is helping the US to extricate its troops from Afghanistan through political negotiations.
The President said this while talking to reporters at the White House along with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.
Trump said the US could win war in Afghanistan in seven to 10 days but he didn’t want to kill 10 million people. “I have plans on Afghanistan that If I wanted to win that war, Afghanistan would be wiped off the face of earth, it would be gone, it would be over in literally 10 days,” Trump said. Imran Khan said he agreed that there was no military solution to war in Afghanistan.
President Trump said previously, Pakistan had been “subversive” to US efforts to combat Taliban and other militants in Afghanistan. “I don’t think Pakistan respected the United States, I don’t think Pakistan respected its presidents,” Trump said. “And I don’t blame them because they were dealing with the wrong presidents,” he added.
President Trump also spoke about the potential of increasing trade with Pakistan, saying that it could be increased up to 10 or 20 times.
