Pashtun Tahafuz Movement’s (PTM) active member Sanna Ejaz has requested Peshawar Police for protection after she received death threats and was threatened at a gun point to abstain from activism on May 11.
According to BBC Urdu, the active female member of PTM has stated that she has been receiving death threats on phone since a long time, she also added that last year June 2018 an unknown person personally came to meet her with a threat to leave the movement or face the consequences.
Ejaz also stated that she has never taken the threats seriously, however, after May 11 incident she was forced to lodge an FIR against unknown persons to the police.
Supporters of Sanna Ejaz used hashtags to condemn the threats on the PTM activist.
According to the FIR, she received a phone call, the country code indicated that it was from UK, however, the number had more digits than ordinary phone numbers.
Ejaz has to relocate after receiving threats. Furthermore, during her interview she said she’s not doing anything which goes against the constitution of Pakistan.
She stated that, the movement falls under the constitution of Pakistan which gives the right to struggle and speak about the hardships of Pashtuns.
For the past ten years, the 34-year-old has been an active social and political activist. Ejaz has worked on various positions as provincial vice president of national youth organisation.
